The tablet that won "Best of Show" at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas 2011, the Motorola Xoom, will be coming to the Verizon Wireless network on Thursday, Feb. 24. The tablet device runs Google's new Android 3.0 Honeycomb operating system—and is one of the few devices that does run Honeycomb, as most Androids are still running Gingerbread.
One of the powerhouse contenders to the iPad, the Motorola Xoom is built around at IGHz dual-core processor and a 10.1 widescreen HD display. The design feature a front-facing 2-megapixel camera for video chats, as well as a rear-facing 5-megapixel camera tat captures video in 720p HD. But don't look now! The iPad 2, due in March is rumored to have duel cameras for FaceTime calling. And Verizon will carry that device too. Choices, choices. The Motorola Xoom will be a showcase for the new Honeycomb platform and will improve on widgets, multi-tasking, browsing, notifications, and customization, as well as Google Mobile services. There is also tabbed browsing and support for the Adobe Flash player soon, which will be delivered as a free download. The upgrade to 4G LTE will be via Web, and visitors can learn about it on Thursday, Feb. 24.
