Trying to find eye shadow colors for Latin and African American skin tones? Here are some tips on how to choose eye shadow colors for dark skin tones.

Applying eye shadow to dark skin can seem somewhat challenging. Many colors, like dark brown and charcoal, will not show up very well. If you are wondering how to apply eye shadow to African-American and other dark skin tones, you’ve come to the right place. Here are some tips on which eye shadow colors go best with dark skin.

Light Eye Shadow Colors

Many women with dark skin tones find that light eye shadow colors tend to be the best option for them. Pale pink, yellow and blue can all be good choices for those with darker skin. Although most people are recommended to stay away from white eye shadow, it can be an excellent choice for those with African-American or other dark skin tones.

Eye Shadow Colors for Latin Skin Tones

Women who have dark skin tones which are slightly lighter, such as Latino women, can look great in champagne. They are also usually able to pull off shades of charcoal, chocolate brown and wine. A general rule of thumb is that Latin women who are trying to find an eye shadow color should consider hues which are darker than their skin tone for a dramatic look. For a daytime look, lighter colors can be more ideal.

Eye Shadow Colors for African-American Skin Tones

If you have a darker skin tone, you may not be sure what eye shadow colors are appropriate besides pastels. One great option to consider is emerald green, which can look beautiful on African-American skin tones. Coral and peach are two other colors which can also look great. If you want to do a lighter color but can’t seem to pull off white, you may want to try a beige color.

There are many eye shadow color options for women with darker skin tones. Although it may seem as though you have to choose a super dramatic color, like fuchsia, for your eye shadow to be seen, this couldn’t be any further from the truth. No matter which eye shadow colors you try out, it is likely that you will find a color which is a suitable option for you.
