The reason I wrote this article is to tell you, “Guys, don’t ever buy anything from TV Shops!!!”

Nowadays, TV Shops are very popular. Day and night they are promoting their goods, one better that the other. I was always wondering how they make money if in every offer they give us there is a thirty-day-money-back-guarantee and the goods are not of high quality. I know it for sure because some of my friends have bought the things from such shops and I myself have done this once or twice. The sport equipment usually falls apart in a week or two, the creams don’t work, weight loss belts are loose etc.

I must admit, I don’t like shopping. My friends don’t believe me, but it is true. If I really need to buy something like a dress or a top, I run into a shop, see if something catches my eye there, – if not, I leave this shop and run into another one – if I see what I like, I grab it, pay for it and leave the shop in a hurry before I spot something else. To my opinion, shopping is wasting of time, especially if you have a business to run.

However, recently I bought an Ab Circle Pro machine from a TV Shop. I didn’t really have any intention to buy anything; my husband and I were simply relaxing watching our favourite series Two and a Half Men which were constantly interrupted by commercials. One of such commercials was a TV Shop offering Ab Circle Pro for $30 for thirty days, money-back-guarantee-no-questions-asked and all that sort of stuff…

A beautiful slim lady (I doubt that she ever had been overweight) told us, “This machine is better than others as it makes all your muscles work. Only three minutes a day required which equals 100 sit ups. You will lose unwanted inches and kilos in weeks, not in months!” By the way, months consist of weeks, so what is the difference?

Anyway, on an impulse we bought this piece of… eh… art. We paid only $30, as they had promised. And we worked on our abs every day for 30 days, as we had promised. Nothing changed, in spite of the fact that my hubby and I were following their eating plan. Not an inch, not a kilo lost. Well, after 30 days we decided to return this machine. It was as new, no scratches, no dust, no damages, so we had all chances to get our money back.

We went to our Post Office where they informed us, that items bigger that 35cm could not be posted via common mail and we had to use DHL or Pack and Send. Ok. We went there and paid… $67 for this parcel!!! Can you believe it? Still, we thought it was better than paying $395 for keeping it. Plus the TV Shop would refund $30. Not that bad.

However, one month later I checked my account and there was no refund at all. So, I called TV Shop to find out where my money was. What do you think they told me? They told me that – I quote – “The machine was excessively scratched and we had to charge you $54. So, we kept your $30 to cover the part of this amount.” I had started to dispute this but than a thought dawned on me, “That’s how they make their money!!!” Genius! And certainly, it is better than working for someone.

Now I think why not create a similar product program and offer it with a thirty-days-money-back-guarantee-no-questions-asked option. I guess anyone could do it and will be better off.
