Drinking coffee is one of today's favorite pastimes, but it isn't anything new. Since the discovery of the coffee plant in Ethiopia, coffee has become a favorite drink not only in Africa, but all over the world. From the first coffee house in Mecca evolved the cafes and coffee bars that we know today.
1. With a French Press, Cafetiere, or Plunger Pot. Measure out the ground beans and hot water in the warmed pot. Let steep for 3 to 6 minutes, then push down the plunger to separate the grounds from the liquid. The brew will have a richer flavor and thicker body than coffee made using other methods. 2. With drip coffee makers. Pour the hot water over ground coffee measured in a paper or mesh filter placed in a cone. The coffee drips or trickles into a cup or pot placed underneath. Brewing time should be 8 to 10 minutes only. 3. With a percolator. Ground coffee is placed in the perforated upper portion while the lower part is filled with fresh water. When the water is heated, it is forced upwards, spraying the coffee and extracting its flavor and color. 4. In an Espresso Machine. Water is transformed into steam that is forced through finely ground coffee to make an aromatic, strong brew. The term espresso actually means “to put under pressure” and that is literally how the coffee is made. 5. With a Vacuum or Glass Balloon. A globe is half-filled with water then brought to a boil. The coffee is placed in the top container then sealed to the globe. Because of the pressure, the water is forced upwards through the coffee grounds then siphoned back into the globe. ——————— I also have links to my other articles through my blogs: Sharing my Thoughts and Lifestyle Magazine for Moms Want to know how to earn extra dollars through writing articles like this?
